What is BURNOUT?
BurnOut is the official post-Burning Man Decompression event for Portland, Oregon and the surrounding areas. The goal for this event is to give provide an opportunity for local burners to host art, build community, inspire creativity, perform and enjoy music, and create memories as they return from the Playa / decompress from the Burning Man season (or consider attending next year!). BurnOut is an officially sanctioned as a post-Burning Man decompression event, gives burners in the Portland area an opportunity to celebrate, network, and build connections with other like-minded people in our region after they return from the Nevada event.
BurnOut 2019: COMING SOON!
It is our intention that BurnOut come back this fall, and for it to be held in October 2019. (Save the date: Saturday, October 12!)
We are currently seeking an an Event Producer (or Producers). We posted a Call for BurnOut 2019 Producers on our website on April 17th, and have also shared this announcement on our Facebook page and sent the position out via the Portland-Announce list (which is managed by the RCs).
The deadline to apply for this position is Sunday, June 2nd. Qualified candidates will be interviewed by the Board. Our goal is to have the position filled by mid-June.
Our hope is that new leaders in our community will join us to make sure this event happens - please help us get the word out!

Burn Out 2018: Due to lack of interest from the community to help produce the event, the board made the difficult and disappointing decision to cancel the event.

BURNOUT 2017 EVENT INFORMATION: BurnOut 2017 is the inaugural event for Precipitation Northwest, with proceeds benefitting our organization’s ongoing programs. This year the event will be held at The North Warehouse, which is conveniently located close to the Portland city center as well as major public transit such as the MAX, Portland Streetcar, and buses. It will allow for both indoor and outdoor art and music exhibits, and food and alcohol will be available for purchase indoors. Activities include live DJs, theme camps, performances, and interactive art, with an expected attendance of 800+ attendees over the course of the evening. Adjacent to the BurnOut event will be the BurnOut Annex, which is a free event open to the public that will allow visitors the opportunity to learn more about our organization, our activities, and our vibrant burner community.
